The GUSTAV MINI GMSL System is a complete, field-proven edge AI platform designed for teams that want to deploy computer vision in vehicles, robots, or outdoor environments without integration effort. Both GMSL2 cameras are pre-connected and validated with the GUSTAV MINI carrier board—the system is delivered as a fully tested unit, not a collection of components. IP69K-rated cameras provide protection against dust, high-pressure water, and automotive EMC conditions, while the global shutter ensures distortion-free capture of fast-moving objects at 60 FPS. The entire software stack—JetPack 6.x, CUDA, TensorRT, and DeepStream—is pre-installed and ready to use. Your own AI model can be deployed immediately without additional configuration.
GMSL2 (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link 2) is the same camera standard used in production ADAS systems by automotive OEMs. A single thin coaxial cable per camera transmits up to 6 Gbps of video data and power over coax, enabling camera placement up to 15 meters away from the compute unit without additional cabling infrastructure. The system can optionally be expanded with a GPS module (centimeter-level positioning via RTK correction), an LTE module (real-time data transmission), or a combined GPS+LTE module. All add-ons are supplied with antennas and connection cables.
All processing is performed entirely on local hardware—no cloud required. The Jetson Orin NX delivers up to 100 TOPS of AI compute for real-time inference and runs CUDA, TensorRT, and DeepStream out of the box. With an input voltage range of 9–60V DC and an operating temperature range of –20°C to +88°C, the system is compatible with 12V passenger vehicles, 24V trucks, and 48V industrial power systems—without the need for an external converter.
APPLICATIONS
In quality inspection:
The system captures and analyzes surfaces, components, and products in real time—for crack and defect
detection, completeness checks, and dimensional inspection. With up to 100 TOPS of AI compute performance, inference
models run directly on the device without cloud connectivity and without latency caused by external servers
In robotics:
Two GMSL2 cameras enable stereo vision and 3D depth estimation for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). The global shutter prevents rolling shutter artifacts during fast motion. The coaxial cable transmits image data and power over distances of up to 15 meters—ideal for large robots with physically separated compute units and camera mounting positions.
In vehicles:
The system is suitable for surround-view camera systems in commercial vehicles, blind spot detection in
trucks and buses, and AI-based analysis of camera data directly inside the vehicle. Thanks to its wide input voltage
range (9–60V DC), it is compatible with 12V passenger cars, 24V trucks, and 48V industrial vehicles. For permanently
installed in-vehicle use with connection to the onboard power system, R10 certification of the complete system by the
integrator is required.
